The sky was falling, painting everything around me in beautiful oranges and yellows. The red was reserved for the sun itself, and it echoed in the water as an opaque peach. The trees hid in a sheet of lavender. The water rippled, golden, making the hair on my arm stand up. I had never seen anything so beautiful and breathtaking, stunning. The cranes stirred, resting their heads under tucks of wet feathers, and were watching with me the close of the day kissing the fragments that were still awake goodnight. &n
